Ever wondered what the key to cracking a jigsaw puzzle is? Its getting the right piece at the right time. Life is like a jigsaw puzzle. As we proceed , we find ourselves building up a beautiful picture. For some it doesn’t click cause we fail to get the right piece at the right time.
I saw her one night gleaming with a silvery shy smile..
All her beauty bestowing upon me
She watched me from the distant sky.
Oh! the poise captivated me;
With soft tenderness I was bound and couldn’t flee.
Like waves in the ocean
You crashed onto my shore
I knew not how or why
but I was reborn…
She the summer, he the rain..
She the fire, he the water…
She the pain, he the heal…
She the desire, he the dream…
Its 3.46 AM on the clock. My late night playlist is on shuffle. And me staring blank outside the window. The night sky slowly turns crimson red. Every night i watch the stars disappear slowly into the beaming sun rays. I observe the nights turn into days. I observe the light win over darkness.
The love was a stranger
The love became friends,
The love was silent,
But it prevailed at both ends..
I hope you are doing good;
good without me.
I know you wish that
you never ever see me.
I wonder did you ever
Ever love me?
I wonder what it was
When you said, go away, i set you free!
I sit by the window. I look at the starry sky. I glance at the calender. March 15th it read. I smile. My eyes, teary. Soon, i found myself walking down the memory lane. A bottle spinning around on the table only to stop pointing towards me. I flush. He smiles. I could read his mind. He had the question ready. Ready to utter the words, only waiting for me to choose truth or dare. I say “dare” and wink at him.
A daughter, a sister, a wife and then a mother! And the loop continues. Its a never ending job, with promotions but with no pay. We women have been doing this for ages. And most importantly, we do it for free.
“I love you.” These were the three simple words he said that day.It was 6th of January 2010. No flowers, no chocolates, no bending on knees, nothing. Just those three words with a crisp smile on his face! Yes, it was pretty astonishing for a first proposal.. but it was what it was. All that he had to offer was his simplicity and his love. Walking just beside him was a girl dressed in a pink kurti and black pants. Smiling shyly she walked with both her hands locked behind. They walked along the park as silence lurked in. Only to break the ice, he offered her to drop her home. She refused. Bidding goodbye was tough for him, he wanted to hold her hand for eternity.
